1. Are there any entry criteria for a team to participate in the external Hackathon being conducted as part of D3 2019? All members of a team should be current students of an institute of higher learning (college or university) in India at the time of registration, through the course of the hackathon, and at the time of the hackathon finals in December 2019.
2. How many members can form a team? Four members are mandatory in each team; the person who registers first will be considered as a lead for the team.
3. Which is the platform for registration? HackerEarth (https://ust-global.hackerearth.com/) will be used for Hackathon registrations.
4. Is there any educational qualification required to participate in the event? The event is open to students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Masters in any stream of study in a college or university in India.
5. What are the steps and the ID proofs required at the time of registration?
6. Can a member be a part of multiple teams? A participant can be part of only one team and changing team members after Registration closes on August 31st will not be allowed.
7. Is a team lead required for a team? If yes, what is the eligibility criteria? Yes, a Team lead is required for each team. One who registers first will be considered as a lead for that team.
8. Can a team have multiple HackerEarth accounts? Each team shall participate through a single HackerEarth account. Please note that UST Global in its sole discretion may disqualify any team or participant who attempts to participate in the event through multiple D3 Hackathon accounts or any other violation of laid down policy.
9. Is there any kind of fee applicable for participation? There is no fee to participate in the event and no fees of any kind will be charged before or after the event.
10. In what scenarios will a team be disqualified?
11. How many rounds are there in this event and how will the teams be shortlisted? The event will comprise of four rounds. The first three rounds will be online rounds with shortlisted teams from each round progressing to next round. After Round 3, a video interview for shortlisted teams will be conducted, with up to top 20 teams progressing to a 24-Hour Onsite Hackathon to be held at the UST Global Campus, Trivandrum. 12. Will travel and accommodation arrangements be made available for the teams? UST Global will sponsor travel and accommodation for the outstation finalists to Trivandrum for the final 24-Hour Onsite Hackathon. UST Global will seek information such as gender and meal preference to make arrangements.
13. Can the participant transfer the rights to another person? Participants shall not transfer their rights to another person within the team unless they have obtained explicit consent from UST Global in writing to do so.
14. Can the team download the information available on the event website? Participants may not download, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, duplicate, or publish any information present on the event website. Any unauthorized use of the event website or its contents shall lead to termination of the access granted by UST Global.
15. Who could I contact in case of a claim or dispute? Any dispute, claim or difference arising out of or in connection with this Term and Conditions, including any question regarding its existence or validity, shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996 by a sole arbitrator appointed by a Director of US Technology International Private Limited. The seat of the arbitration shall be in Trivandrum. The language to be used in the arbitration shall be English.
